The Championship Gaming Series was an international electronic sports league based in the United States of America, though it had expanded to every continent except Antarctica for Season Two before being abruptly discontinued.
The league was founded in 2007 and was owned and operated by DirecTV in association with British Sky Broadcasting and STAR TV (Asia).
It was announced on November 18, 2008 that the Championship Gaming Series would be ceasing operations.
