Genesis 3 is a Smash event held at the San Jose Convention Center in San Jose, California on January 15-17, 2016. A compendium for the event allowed the Smash community to contribute to an increased prize pool, players flown to the event, and more features at the event. A separate crowd-funded player fund was organized on /r/smashbros to help send more players to the event.
