The NACE-sanctioned, college competitions for SMITE began in the 2018 Fall semester and was open to both varsity and club-level university teams. The format featured a 32 team double elimination bracket that lead up to the national championship at Dreamhack Atlanta 2018, where the event was broadcast to live-streaming platforms (Mixer, Twitch, and YouTube to 10,000+ viewers). The competition had $50,000 in scholarship prizes awarded to winners.
